This is due to the conditions of these places, which are very calm and quiet as only a protected area can be. Here it is easier to see some shy and elusive species like the woodpeckers, which have specifically adapted to the wood life. In order to verify the presence of these birds some presence indicators can be a great help: feeding or nesting holes, feathers, food rests as well as their song that can be heard especially during the mating seasons.
