Ethnographic Museum of Wood

Museums and castles

Description

The museum was opened to the public in June 2009, and it witnesses the slow evolution brought by electricity in Val di Peio. Located within a nineteenth century mill, on the top floor, there is an old log carriage with a saw that is powered by an electric flywheel. The machinery within the sawmill began to run with electricity only after the war. Within the museum, there are several rooms with old furnishings made by artisans. There is also a scale model created with authentic materials that shows the entire Val di Peio with all its unique cultural sites.

We recommend guests contact the organizers of each event before booking in order to verify in which languages the guided tours or the activities will take place.
