Please note that the practicability of the itineraries in a mountain environment is strictly linked to the contingent conditions and is therefore influenced by natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this page may have changed. Before leaving for a tour, make sure the path you will approach is still accessible by contacting the owner of the mountain hut, the alpine guides or the visitor centres of the nature parks, the info offices of the local tourist board.

From Malè near the characteristic ‘Arco’ (in the past this was the aqueduct for the Val di Rabbi) situated at the north-east part of the village, cycle uphill towards Bolentina on the provincial road n. 141 until reaching the first sharp bend. From here there is a dirt road on the right which runs for about 100 m, then left gently uphill and continuing on a wider flat road which will take you to Val di Rabbi. After approximately 2 km, bypassing a rigged area adjacent to the torrent ‘Rabbies’, the path rises alongside the woods and subsequently descends to the ‘Birreria’ (this large area produced beer at the end of the 1800s). Continue on staying on the left of the torrent and entering the Valley by way of some fields and woodland, from here, looking up the sides of the valley you can catch sight of the numerous ‘masi’ (barns) characteristic of the valley. The trail continue on the uneven dirt road alongside the torrent ‘Rabbies’ until reaching the village of Pracorno (850 m - circa 4.5 km) On arriving at the first houses after having crossed some fields (keep your eye on the track) turn right and cross the torrent on the bridge until meeting the provincial road n.86 in Val di Rabbi. From here continue for about 4 km to the village of S. Bernardo, crossing the centre of which you will arrive in the locality known as Poz; from here cycle uphill to the right of the torrent ‘Rabbies’ on an easy dirt road until reaching Ponte Pralongo, through typical Val di Rabbi alpine pastureland. Remaining on the same side carry on past the bridge, the road becomes a path which passes the ‘Ruaie’ (one of the oldest parts of Rabbi) and leads to Ponte Casna where you will meet a small tarmacked road running parallel to the provincial n.86, take this road until reaching the locality known as Forni. Going left and passing the reconstructed saw-mill and some buildings in Bagni di Rabbi you will reach the Terme di Rabbi (well worth a visit, here you can taste the natural spring water, the discovery and use of which dates back to the 1600s).
Carry on along the main road for about 500 m. On the left there is an uphill dirt road signposted Malga Cercen. Here the road breaks away from the valley and gradually enters the woods, and becomes considerably steeper. After a few kilometres, across some pastureland you will reach the Val Cercen. Bypass Fontanon and following the signs for Malga Cercen (on the opposite side there are some small roads which lead to Malga Villar, Fassa and Monte Sole, the last of about 70 malgas in the area). The trail is undulating and every now and then there are stretches of very steep road. Finally you will arrive at Malga Cercen Bassa, go left wgere the road will become narrower and after a very steep climb you will arrive at Malga Cercen Alta, situated on the southern side of Monte Villar. There is a small fountain here where you can drink some refreshing water and enjoy the view and Passo Cercen above you. The pass (2.620 m) is reachable by following the signs on the path SAT n. 109. On reaching the stream which cuts through the valley, you will have to push your bike for about 1 km until arriving at the Pass, the border between Val di Rabbi and Val di Pejo. From here the panorama is vast with an amazing view of the glaciers Vioz-Cevedale. This area is of great interest for its flora and fauna (marmots, roedeer and eagles) and the numerous botanic species which can be found here. From this point the downhill run starts towards Celledizzo on a steep path, which must be walked as far as Malga Levi. A small road from here goes to Malga Borche from where through dense woodland you arrive in the village of Celledizzo. A little further down is the provincial road from Val di Peio which goes in the direction of Ossana, up to the junction of Comasine, where on the right is the cycle path which goes down the valley finally arriving in Malè.

It is strongly advised to pack your own food and some energy snacks.
We also recommend taking a change of clothes as the weather conditions may change suddenly at these high altitudes.
We recommend always carrying a repair kit: inner tube, pump, mastic, patches and an emergency repair kit.
