Please note that the practicability of the itineraries in a mountain environment is strictly linked to the contingent conditions and is therefore influenced by natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. For this reason, the information contained in this page may have changed. Before leaving for a tour, make sure the path you will approach is still accessible by contacting the owner of the mountain hut, the alpine guides or the visitor centres of the nature parks, the info offices of the local tourist board.

Starting point

The telecabina Doalasa

Directions

From the telecabina in Daolasa go in the direction of Malghet Aut and the Malga di Dimaro. From the malga take the dirt road towards Malga Darè (there are road works on certain stretches of this road). Continue along, crossing the main road to Camp Carlo Magno. From here it is uphill until arriving at Campo Carlo Magno where you can savour the spectacular view of the Dolomites and the golf course below. After a short descent, you will reach the departure point of the telecabina Grostè. Take the telecabina to Rifugio Stoppani and a short walk brings you to Passo Grostè (2.441 m) an exceptional point where the Brenta mountains, Adamello-Presanella and the Ortles Cevedale, with their surrounding vallies, can be seen. From here take the road signposted SAT n.301 and follow the road for Malga Flavona. This road is very narrow and steep and should be walked and ridden alternatively, (a high degree of technical knowhow is required here) until arriving at Monte Turrion Basso. Remaining on SAT 301 un uphill climb, pushing your bike to reach the above lying zone known as Campo della Flavona. Here you will meet SAT 371 which can be ridden (with the necessary care and attention). At the end of this vast open space there is a short climb to Malga Flavona (1.860 m). Ride around the exterior of the fence which surrounds this area and there is a mule-track which passes through sparse woodland and a difficult descent to Malga Pozzol. The road now becomes more passable, steep and fast with concrete tracts, (take care in case there are passing lorries or pedestrians) through dense pine-tree woodland, and finally reaching the spectacular Lago di Tovel.

Following the tarmacked road which runs through the valley you will arrive in the village of Tuenno, continue from here to the station in Cles where the local train will take you comfortably back to Daolasa.

We recommend always carrying a repair kit: inner tube, pump, mastic, patches and an emergency repair kit.
