THE MAGIC OF MOUNTAIN HUTS IN WINTER

Places where you can taste tradition

There are four mountain huts open in Val di Sole in winter, where you can taste the flavors of the Val di Sole tradition in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Tables set with steaming dishes with delightful aromas, a warm welcome from the staff, often composed of families who will immediately make you feel at home, and the crackling of the lit fireplaces that create a friendly and cheerful atmosphere. These are just some of the elements you can find once you reach the mountain huts that we suggest trying for lunch or dinner with friends, as a couple, or with family.

what to where

How to get to the alpine dairies

Before embarking on your hike to the mountain hut, gather information about the trail conditions from one of the valley Information Offices. They can provide you with updated directions and recommend the appropriate equipment for the journey. Always check the avalanche bulletin (on www.meteotrentino.it or other relevant websites). If your chosen snowshoeing route is in an avalanche-prone area, bring an avalanche safety kit consisting of an avalanche transceiver (Artva), a shovel, and a probe. You can rent this kit at stores offering such services.

Here's a list of items you should have with you when undertaking a snowshoeing adventure:

  • Waterproof boots.
  • Snowshoes and trekking poles. Choose the rental option closest to you
  • Waterproof, comfortable, and warm winter clothing
  • Hat, gloves, sunglasses, and sunscreen
  • Backpack with a snack and a thermos of hot beverage
  • Camera or cellphone to capture the landscapes and views you love. If you feel like it, share them on social media using #valdisolevibes.

AN ENCOUNTER BETWEEN TASTE AND CULTURE
