Book your winter vacation and we’ll activate your insurance coverage

If you book your vacation at least 30 days before your arrival, in one of the participating accommodation facilities, insurance coverage will already be included in the price of your stay if by chance you need to cancel your vacation before or during your stay.

That’s right: during these uncertain times, we want you to look forward to planning your next vacation without any worries at all and that’s exactly why we’ve decided to provide you with an insurance policy that will cover the cost of cancelling your vacation due to any unforeseen events. You won’t have to worry about any cancellation charges, even in the event of mandatory quarantine after coming into contact with someone that has tested positive for Covid-19. This insurance policy also covers other types of unexpected situations that may affect your departure or your stay in Val di Sole (ex. illness, injury, pregnancy complications and much more).

HOW DOES IT WORK?

If you are a citizen of the European Union* and you book an 'Insured Vacation', the accommodation facility will activate your insurance coverage on your behalf after they have received your booking deposit. Go to the 'Special Offers' in the price section of each accommodation facility in the following list.

* Insurance coverage can be activated for all citizens that reside in the European Union and in the EEA: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Hungary.

WHAT DOES THE INSURANCE POLICY COVER?

The insurance policy will refund your booking deposit and any cancellation charges that have already been paid. You will receive a refund minus a maximum 10% deductible, according to each specific situation in which a deductible can be applied. If by chance you have to cut short your vacation, the insurance company, and not the accommodation facility, will refund the part of your holiday that had to be cancelled.  

This insurance policy covers: 

  • illness (including COVID-19), with coverage up to second-degree relatives in addition to your business co-owners or your travel companion;
  • quarantine of the policy holder;
  • job loss, furlough, unemployment, new employment;
  • the policy holder if summoned for jury duty, or as a witness or Justice of the Peace; 
  • extraordinary and unforeseeable damage to the policy holder’s home that requires his or her presence
  • theft occurring 5 days prior to the departure date of identity documents that are necessary in order to travel out of the country; 
  • failure to reach your holiday destination due to vehicle breakdown or an accident while travelling to the destination;
  • pregnancy complications
     

LIMIT OF LIABILITY AND DEDUCTIBLES

Each policy holder has a maximum 8.000€ limit of liability.
The deductible rate may vary from 0%, in the event of death or hospitalization for more than 3 days, to 10% of the total amount that will be refunded including the booking deposit and cancellation charges, in all other cases.  The deductible is always paid by the policy holder.  

SELF-ISOLATION, QUARANTINE

Self-isolation of the policy holder due to a positive swab test is covered by the policy as it certifies to all intents and purposes the presence of an illness.

 Self-quarantine refers to healthy individuals who have come into close contact with other individuals who tested positive and who could potentially be exposed to the risk of infection. 

a) The insurance policy will provide coverage if you, the policy holder or your travel companion are placed in quarantine by the Government or a Public Authority and if you are able to provide official documentation released by any of the aforementioned authorities. 
b) The insurance policy will not provide coverage if quarantine intervention is applied in general or extensively to a part of or the entire population or to a geographic area or if it is applied to the departure or arrival point of a trip or any stopovers during the trip. The insurance policy will not refund your deposit in this case, but you can contact the accommodation facility in which you have booked your vacation to verify the commercial terms and agreements of the facility. You can however request an insurance voucher, issued by the insurance company, that can be used within 18 months to activate an insurance policy with the same company.
