IN VAL DI SOLE
Hiking with your nose pointing skywards
Walking through the woods at night with your nose pointing skywards: a special adventure that can be enjoyed all year round here in Val di Sole. Have you heard of astrotrekking? The clue is in the name: this is a walk through uncontaminated nature, admiring the stars without any light pollution: just you, the woods and the celestial bodies.
Val di Sole is one of the best places for trying astrotrekking—do you know why? The sky over Ossana has been certified by Astronomitaly as one of the most beautiful in Italy and one of the best places for observing the stars and the Milky Way.
Hiking through the woods at dusk is a special experience and the spectacle you will see once you get to your destination is even more special. You will be able to enjoy views of the mountains and the valley below, totally in touch with nature thanks to the peace and quiet all around you.
This is a chance to admire the celestial bodies up close thanks to telescopes and lasers that will give you a better view of the stars and expert astronomers will be on hand to explain all about the secrets hidden behind constellations, stars and planets. If you are fascinated by nature and the stars, astrotrekking is perfect for you! You can try it at any time of year, in any season.
We recommend comfortable clothing and hiking boots. In the winter we recommend warm clothing and boots suitable for the snow. In the case of deep snow we might have to use snow shoes.
