WHAT TO EXPECT/ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

Adrenalin rush as you see the void beneath your feet. Using a snap hook attached to the wire rope, climb up the rock together with a professional mountain guide and reach Barba di Fior Fort. It consist of threeactivities in one: via ferrata, 30 metres rappelling and 70 metres zipline. The experience ends with a tasty aperitivo at Malga Frattasecca featuring typical local products. 

INTERESTING FACTS/INFO

At the end of the via ferrata, you will arrive at Forte Barba di Fior, a fortification dating back to the First World War, built in the early 20th century to defend the borders of the Austro-Hungarian Empire from Italian invasions. Today, only ruins of the fort remain, but in the past, it played a crucial role in defending the entire Val di Peio and beyond.

WHAT WE SUPPLY

The necessary technical equipment for tackling the via ferrata will be provided: harness, helmet, ropes, and carabiners.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

Suitable for everyone from 7 years old. An ideal activity for families and groups of friends.
As it is a via ferrata, there will be exposed sections.

EQUIPMENT/CLOTHING

Wear mountain clothing, bring a backpack, water bottle, and a pair of shoes with a good sole (preferably hiking boots). We also suggest wearing via ferrata or work gloves.

WHERE

PEIO FONTI - Malga Frattasecca parking lot
By car from Peio Fonti to the parking lot at Malga Frattasecca. Using the shuttle service that stops in both directions at the parking lot, leaving your car at Peio Fonti. On foot from Peio Fonti, follow the paved road until you reach the cantonaccio (picnic area on the right), then take the new trail that leads directly to the malga (approximately 30 minutes).

IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER

Weather conditions will be evaluated two days prior to the excursion: the outing will be postponed if the weather conditions are not optimal
