  • before you leave, if you don't feel well, postpone going out until you feel better;
  • never leave garbage at high altitudes and,if possible, avoid leaving it at the huts or pastures you will visit;
  • if you spot wild animals along the trail, please do not approach them, do not shout and keep your dog on a leash, lest by instinct it chase them, scaring them away.

Starting point

Valbiolo chairlift parking lot (1,885 m)

Directions

Valbiolo chairlift parking lot (1,885 m) - Valbiolo pond (2,100 m) - Malga Valbiolo (2,244 m)

The itinerary begins at 1900 meters above sea level, from the parking lot at the foot of the Valbiolo chairlift. At the beginning of the asphalt road that climbs toward the old hospice you will find a sign on the left that will point you in the direction. Follow it and, through snow-covered meadows you will reach the Valbiolo reservoir, a highly attractive recreational point in summer. From here you will initially ascend following the stream that separates you from the ski slope and then, surmounting the ancient glacial moraine, you will cross the snowy grove that will lead you to the start of the Contrabbandieri chairlift at an altitude of 2,240 meters. From here you reach malga Valbiolo, where we suggest a lunch or snack stop with spectacular views of the Adamello Glacier, the largest in the Italian Alps.When you're done recharging, you can descend to the valley with the Valbiolo chairlift or on foot, keeping to the side of the slope to the parking lot.
