The Valorz Valley appears as an amphitheater in front of the village and its postcard landscape can be discovered by walking the natural-cultural itinerary of the farmhouses of Valorz which leads to the base of the homonymous waterfalls.

Medium difficulty itinerary that starts from the Kneipp route, a barefoot path that, using the fresh waters of the Rio Valorz, allows you to find your well-being through hydrotherapy, it will make you discover the charming Rio Valorz Trail. It is a route along which wooden sculptures and other natural materials made by the artist Maurizio Misseroni have been arranged, accompanied by verses of the most beautiful poems of Teresa Girardi, a well-known poet from Rabbi, engraved on some benches. About halfway through this approximately 2-kilometer loop, you can detour to the Valorz Waterfalls and take a break at their foot in the large picnic area present in the area.

Suggestions

At the end of the walk, we recommend you to recharge from the effort in the suggestive Kneipp Route barefoot that you will find in San Bernardo.

Safety information

To face a mountain hike we suggest you:

  • choose a route suitable for your preparation. If in doubt, contact our Information Offices;
  • prepare your hike: check the weather forecast, the route you will follow and the chairlift schedules if your itinerary includes their use. Remember that the passability of routes in a mountain environment is strictly linked to current conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes and weather conditions. For this, get well informed about the route and its conditions before leaving;
  • leave information about your itinerary, approximate return time and bring your cellphone with you;
  • pay attention to the signs and signage you find on the route: Stelvio Park signs, SAT white and red signs and red and white marks on stones or trees;
  • call 112 in case of accident;
  • book in advance the mountain hut or refuge where you intend to stop to eat or sleep;
  • never leave waste in high altitude and, if possible, avoid leaving it in the refuges or mountain huts you visit;
  • if you spot wild animals along the route, we invite you to stay on the trail you are following, not get too close, don’t shout and keep your dog on a leash to prevent it from instinctively chasing and scaring them

Starting point

Kneipp Route

Directions

Once you leave the car in the parking lot in front of the Rabbi information office, follow the signs for the Kneipp route which can be reached in about 5 minutes on foot. From here, take the road that is first paved and then becomes a path following the directions for the Rio Valorz Trail  following the signpost no. 121. This circular route is about 2 kilometers long and has an elevation gain of about 170 meters, so it is suitable for families, but not for strollers, given the natural pavement and the possible presence of narrow sections. About halfway along the trail, near the Valorz parking lot, you will find a wooden sculpture of a bear, which will indicate the direction to the Valorz Waterfalls. With about 1 hour round trip, it is indeed possible to reach these spectacular waterfalls immersed in the Valorz Valley, where you can enjoy a short break to admire the power of nature. From here, follow the same route back to the Valorz parking lot and then continue on the Rio Valorz Trail returning to San Bernardo.

Public transportation

You can reach San Bernardo with the Trentino Trasporti line bus MALÈ - RABBI BAGNI - SOMRABBI (download the outbound and return timetables).

How to get there

Follow the SS42 and at the exit for Terzolas center, turn right and follow Via Nazionale. At the roundabout, take the second exit towards Val di Rabbi and follow SP86 to San Bernardo.

Where to park

You can leave the car in the parking lot located near the Rabbi information office or near the Kneipp Route.
