Easy walk starting near Lake dei Caprioli leading to the now turbid Lake Stablo.
Starting from the charming Lake dei Caprioli, near the parking lot by Malga Bassa di Fazzon from where you can enjoy spectacular views of the Vioz and Cevedale mountains and the Ortles-Cevedale group, the medium difficulty route leads to Lake Stablo, a body of water with turbid waters located above Baita Regina del Bosco.

At the parking lot near Malga Bassa Fazzon, the easy route that reaches Lake Stablo begins. Before setting off, take some time to explore the Malga Fazzon Visitor Center, where you can be transported on a journey between virtual and real dimensions, thanks to multimedia exhibits that will illustrate the history and the most iconic places of Val di Sole. From the parking lot, follow the SAT 203 trail and after about an hour's walk you will reach Malga Alta Fazzon. Here, you can taste tasty platters of local products and cheeses made by the dairy and traditional dishes from the Sole Valley. From the dairy, in almost 30 minutes' walk following the signs to Baita Regina del Bosco, you reach Lake Stablo. For the return, follow the same route back.
You can reach Pellizzano by Trentino Trasporti regular bus MALÈ - MEZZANA - FUCINE - VERMIGLIO - TONALE (download departure and return timetables) or by Trentino Trasporti regular bus MALÈ - MEZZANA - FUCINE - COGOLO - PEIO (download departure and return timetables).
Drive along the SS42 to Pellizzano. At the junction, turn left and once you cross the characteristic wooden bridge, follow the signs for Lake dei Caprioli, taking the uphill paved road that after some hairpin bends will lead you to the lake.
Leave your car at the parking lot near Malga Bassa Fazzon. The parking lot is paid during the summer period.
To face this walk we recommend wearing hiking boots and a hat and carrying a waterproof jacket, sunscreen and a water bottle in your backpack.
