Safety information

Rules for mountain walks:

• The passability of routes in a mountain environment is closely linked to current conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, inform yourself well about the route and its conditions before departure. You can do this by contacting the nearest Information Office to you;
• If you plan to reach a malga or refuge, make sure they are open and, if you intend to stop to eat or sleep, call them in advance to book;
• Leave indications about your route and always carry your mobile phone with you;
• In case of an accident call 112;
• Never abandon waste at altitude and, if possible, avoid leaving it at the refuges or malgas you visit;
• If you spot wild animals along the route, please stay on the path you are following, do not get too close, do not shout, and keep your dog on a leash to avoid it instinctively chasing them and scaring them.

Directions

Reach by car the parking lot in loc. S. Antonio, above the village of Celentino (4 km of dirt road). From here continue on foot for a further approx. 1.5 km of dirt road or via a trail that reconnects to the SAT path 132 until you reach Malga Campo, immersed in the Stelvio National Park, at 1,979 meters of altitude. The malga is an authentic and genuine place where you can try some of the dairy products made by them, such as the good malga butter.

Public transportation

You can reach the Val di Sole by the TRENTO-MALEÌ-MEZZANA train (download the departure and return timetables) up to Mezzana. From here, you can reach Celentino by the line bus MALÈ - MEZZANA - FUCINE - COGOLO - PEIO (download the departure and return timetables).

How to get there

Drive along the SS42, at the junction for Val di Peio, turn right and follow the SP87 towards Val di Peio - Celentino.

Parking in loc. S. Antonio above the village of Celentino.
