The 'route reaches Caprioli Lake, one of the iconic places in Val di Sole.
A moderately strenuous snowshoe hike that follows marked trails with snowshoe signage. The trail goes through quiet, peaceful woods until it reaches the charming Caprioli Lake, one of the most visited places in Val di Sole in the summertime.
For snow hiking activities follow these guidelines:
The itinerary begins at the Artuik Residence in Marilleva 1400, from which an uphill trail starts towards Ponte Alto. Continue uphill until you reach a hairpin bend and, leaving the main trail to the left that goes in the direction of the Malghet Lakes, continue through the woods, very dense in places, until you reach the Malga Alta di Fazzon. From here you reach downhill the fascinating Lago dei Caprioli and pause to admire the reflections of the mountains on the ice. Here you can plan a gourmet lake-view stop at the Chalet Lago dei Caprioli (we recommend it!) but, before leaving for the hike, inquire about the opening hours and, if possible, book in advance at (+39) 0463 751157.For the return journey you can choose to return to Marilleva 1400 by the same route or, alternatively, descend to Pellizzano along the Sentiero degli Gnomi (Gnome Trail).
You can reach Marilleva 1400 with the MALÉ - MEZZANA - MARILLEVA 1400 bus line of Trentino Trasporti(download schedules) or get to Marilleva 900 with the TRENTO-MALÉ- MARILLEVA train (download round-trip schedules) and from there reach Marilleva 1400 with the Contrè- Malga Copai gondola.
Stay on the SS42 until the traffic circle just before Mezzana (if you are coming from Trento/Malé/Dimaro) and there take the second exit (Via Valar) towards Marilleva. Cross the Noce River, turn left and stay on SP 206 for about 8 kilometers until you reach Residence Artuik.
Near the Artuik Residence (parking at the residence is private).
