Safety information

Rules for mountain walks:

  • The accessibility of routes in a mountain environment is closely linked to current conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, get good information about the path and its conditions before leaving. You can do this by contacting the nearest Information Office to you
  • If you plan to reach a mountain hut or refuge, make sure they are open and if you intend to stop to eat or sleep, call them in advance to book
  • Leave indications about your itinerary and always carry your mobile phone
  • In case of accident call 112
  • Never leave waste in the altitude and, if possible, avoid leaving it at the refuges or huts you visit
  • If you spot wild animals along the path, we invite you to stay on the trail you are walking, not to get too close, not to shout, and keep your dog on a leash to avoid it instinctively chasing and scaring them

Starting point

Marillena 1400

Directions

Starting from the church of Marilleva 1400, go down to the left along the asphalt road. Continue descending for about one hundred meters. Before the hairpin bend, continue left along a small road that passes under the ski slope following the sign for Lago dei Caprioli-Mala Alta di Pellizzano-Via delle Malghe. Continue along the road which gradually becomes unpaved. The forest road, with a slight ascent, passes near a picnic area and crosses the bridge over the small Rio Lores. After nine hundred meters you reach a fork and continue on the dirt road to the left. Five hundred meters beyond the previous fork you reach a four-way intersection where you continue to ascend following the signs for Malga Alta di Pellizzano. At the next fork, follow the sign for Malga Alta di Pellizzano that leads onto a trail. The route is that of the “Strada Laresa” and the “Via delle malghe,” a long path that connects the most important mountain huts located on the mountains of Val di Sole. Then the trail becomes a dirt road and the slope decreases, you cross another stream, then near the fork for Malga Artuik you start to descend. Shortly after you will reach Malga Alta di Pellizzano.

If desired, you can take the SAT 203 trail and continue towards Lago dei Caprioli.
