Walk in Valpiana, a charming and relaxing place in Val di Sole where you can relax in its green pastures.
This pleasant medium-difficulty walk will take you to Valpiana, a valley named for its particularly flat terrain. Once you reach the destination, you can enjoy a moment of relaxation in nature, breathing the scent of the firs surrounding you and being lulled by the ringing of the cowbells of the cows grazing on the pastures around you.
Rules for mountain walks:
If you spot wild animals along the path, please stay on the trail you are following, do not approach too closely, do not shout, and keep your dog on a leash to prevent it from instinctively chasing and frightening them.
Near the first hairpin bend of the road that goes up from Ossana towards the locality of Valpiana, take the "sentiero de la lec" which, after crossing a lush and enchanting fir forest, allows you to reach the destination in about 30 minutes. Here, you can admire the mountains of the Adamello-Presanella Group surrounding the entire valley, offering you unique views to photograph. Thanks to the presence of the Foce Stream flowing beside the valley, even your four-legged friends will be satisfied: what could be better than a nice fresh bath in the waters of an alpine stream? For the return, it is possible to take the same route as the outward journey or take the forest road, thus creating a circular route.
You can reach the village of Ossana by the TRENTO-MALÉ-MARILLEVA train (download the outbound and return timetables), up to the Mezzana stop. At Mezzana, take the Trentino Trasporti line bus MALÉ - MEZZANA - FUCINE - VERMIGLIO - TONALE (download the outbound and return timetables) or MALÉ - MEZZANA - FUCINE - COGOLO - PEIO (download the outbound and return timetables) to reach Ossana.
Follow SS42 to the village of Ossana and, once past the church of Santa Maria Maddalena, at the junction, turn left along SP202. Follow the road for about one kilometer and park near the church, then continue on foot.
You can park near the church of Ossana and from there take the path leading to Valpiana. Alternatively, you can reach Valpiana by car, following the signs at the junction.
To undertake this walk, we recommend wearing hiking boots and a hat and carrying a waterproof jacket, sunscreen, and a water bottle in your backpack.
