Safety information

Rules for mountain walks:

  • The accessibility of routes in a mountain environment is strictly linked to current conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, be well informed about the route and its conditions before leaving. You can do this by contacting the Information Office closest to you;
  • If you plan to reach a mountain hut or refuge, make sure they are open and, if you intend to stop to eat or sleep, call in advance to book;
  • Leave indications about your itinerary and always carry your phone;
  • In case of an accident, call 112;
  • Never abandon waste in the mountains and, if possible, avoid leaving it at the refuges or huts you visit;
  • If you spot wild animals along the way, please stay on the path you are following, do not approach them, do not shout, and keep your dog on a leash to prevent it from instinctively chasing and scaring them.

Starting point

Pellizzano - Playground

Directions

From the playground located in the center of the village of Pellizzano, a characteristic mountain village where the architecture blends perfectly with the surrounding nature, you climb along the winding road leading to the lake. At the second hairpin turn, the trail begins immersed in the woods which, once you reach the wooden bridge over the Rio Fazzon, climbs through the forest following the “Gnome Path,” a route characterized by the presence of several wooden sculptures from which the path takes its name. From here, follow the signs for the “Palù Path” which in about 1 hour of walking leads to the Fazzon locality and then to the lake. Once you reach the lake, take a break on its shores and relax by this gem nestled at the foot of the Adamello-Presanella Group. The return is planned along the same route back.

You can reach Pellizzano by the Trentino Trasporti bus line MALÈ - MEZZANA - FUCINE - VERMIGLIO - TONALE (download the outbound and return schedules) or with the Trentino Trasporti bus line MALÈ - MEZZANA - FUCINE - COGOLO - PEIO (download the outbound and return schedules).
