Round trekking tour in the amphitheater of the valley Val Piana, perfect for all the wild animals lovers, especially during the summer time

Among mountain farms and impressive landscape views this itinerary will take us through the valley Val Piana. The more careful and curious visitors will have the chance to watch some of the typical wild animals of the area in their summer habitat. In the area of the amphitheater of the valley Val Piana is quite easy to watch deer and chamois.

To be able to see some wild animals you should arrive either at the sunrise or the sunset, when they are active and out for feeding. You should walk silently and trying not to be seen by them. In fact, there are no big trees in this area and the wild animals don’t bear the human presence or any other disrupting factor for a long time.

Starting point

Fontanino di Celentino (place)

Directions

The starting point of this itinerary is the place Fontanino di Celentino, in the valley Val del Monte, where you can find a parking place of the Park. From there take the forest road to the mountain farm Malga Giumella and then the trail CAI-SAT n.124 which takes to Malga Paludèi (2.106 m). Continue on trail n.110 and then on trail n. 141 which goes up into the valley Val Piana for a short distance and then down to the place Lagostèl. Pass by the charcoal kilns and then take trail n. 124 to go back.
