Starting point

Valbiolo chairlift parking lot

Directions

From the parking area at the foot of the Valbiolo chairlift, you will find the trailhead sign on the right, at the beginning of the paved road that climbs to the old Ospizio. Follow the signs, which will guide you along a pleasant and not at all challenging loop trail that goes around the area of the Tonale Hospice. The 'environment is vast, peaceful, sunny and will give you fantastic views in the presence of the highest peaks in Trentino: Presanella, Cercen and Busazza. The route is particularly pleasant precisely because it is a succession of short climbs and descents within everyone's reach, in an environment that alternates between vast spaces and passages among larch, mountain pine and fir trees.

Public transportation

You can reach Passo del Tonale by Trentino Trasporti bus (download the round-trip schedule).

How to get there

Drive along the SS42, as far as Passo del Tonale. About the height of Hotel Gardenia, turn left onto Via della Circonvallazione and continue, keeping to the right and following the signs for Valbiolo chairlift.

Where to park

Ample parking at the start of the Valbiolo chairlift.
