Immerse yourself in the scent of wood and discover how important this material is to the lives of bees. During the experience, put your curiosity to the test as you try to guess what is hidden inside our mystery boxes. Then use their contents to create a keepsake to take home with you. Finally, enjoy a taste of our honey and a delicious hot drink.

NOTES AND FUN FACTS

Discover an educational beehive and observe the fascinating social life of bees and the different roles they play. Uncover the secrets of the queen bee and learn about the role each bee has within the hive. The wood used during the experience comes from Val di Sole. You will be able to touch it, discover how it was used in the past and learn how its uses have evolved over time. And bees won't be the only ones keeping you company: you'll also meet little sheep and some adorable rabbits.

WHO WE ARE

La Casa dell'Ape in Ortisè is a farm born out of a passion for bees and nature! For over 20 years, it has specialised in beehive construction, beekeeping and the production of locally grown vegetables.

We will provide you with a "carpenter's" apron with which you can create your wooden craft. At the end of the experience, we will let you taste the honey and a warm drink by the fire.

Hiking boots or shoes suitable for snow, warm and comfortable winter clothing.

You can reach Ortisé with your car by following the SS42. Follow the directions and take the road that goes up to Ortisé at the crossroads between Mezzana and Pellizzano.
