program

Day 1 - 5 June2026

Ossana > Velon

The route begins at the historic San Michele Castle in Ossana and climbs quickly through dense spruce and larch forests to the pastures of Malga del Doss, eventually reaching the wilder alpine basin of Lago di Barco beneath the Presanella peaks. From the lake, the trail descends steeply toward the Vermiglio valley, where the landscape softens into meadows, traditional masi, and the gentle flow of the Vermigliana stream.

day 2 - 6 june 2026

Velon > Malga Saviana

The first part begins on the easy "Sentiero di Valle", following flat meadows along the Vermigliana stream. After crossing Vermiglio, you climb the Strada dei Masi di Verniana, leaving the valley floor for dense conifer forests. The ascent continues until the landscape opens into the wide alpine pastures of Malga Saviana, set in a grassy basin with views of the Adamello-Presanella group.

day 3 - 7 june 2026

Malga Saviana > Ossana

The day starts with a high-altitude traverse across open slopes and scattered larches before descending into Val Comasine and entering the Miners’ Trail. Here the terrain becomes rugged, marked by old mine entrances, dark rocks, and remnants of mining activity. Following the historic mule track, you reach Comasine, then continue a steep descent through woodland and the former smelting area, eventually joining the cycle-pedestrian path that leads back to Ossana and its castle.
