A simple route that leads from the Folgarida cable car parking lot to the Malghetto di Almazzago.
The Malghetto di Almazzago is an excellent viewpoint over Dimaro and all the lower Val di Sole. The viewpoint can be reached in just over half an hour of mainly flat walking.
Rules for mountain walks:
The route winds through the Folgarida area in the Adamello Presanella mountain group and leads to the Malghetto di Almazzago, a mountain hut where you can find friendly animals such as goats, sheep, and donkeys. The view of the Val di Sole once you reach the destination is definitely spectacular: from here you can clearly see the town of Dimaro and the entire lower valley. Getting to this place is fairly simple and there are no major difficulties, but mountain shoes are necessary as access is via a mountain path and not a road. The route starts from the Folgarida cable car parking lot, next to which the path enters the forest. Halfway through, you cross the Rio Rotian and after about 30 minutes you arrive at the Malghetto di Almazzago. We recommend bringing a packed lunch and enjoying it facing this panorama!
The itinerary can also be done starting from Malghetto di Mestriago which is located on the road to Marilleva 1400.
You can reach the starting point of the route by TRENTO - MALE' - MEZZANA train (download the outbound and return timetables) to Dimaro. To reach the Folgarida cable car parking lot, you can take the Malé - Folgarida - Madonna di Campiglio public bus (download the outbound and return timetables) to Folgarida.
Follow the SS42 and at Dimaro, at the roundabout, take the third exit and follow provincial road 239 towards Madonna di Campiglio until you reach the Folgarida parking lot.
You can leave your car in the parking lot in Folgarida.
To undertake this walk we recommend wearing hiking boots and a hat, and bringing a waterproof jacket, sunscreen, and a water bottle in your backpack.
