Route immersed in the wild Val Valorz between imposing waterfalls and wonderful alpine lakes.
High difficulty hike that, entering the Val Valorz, first meets the spectacular Valorz Waterfalls and then proceeds into a sparse larch forest, reaching a small body of water: the Soprasasso Lake. The trail continues along steep slopes to Lago Rotondo and to Lago Quarto and Lago Alto. Finally, following the shores of the last of the three lakes, it reaches Passo Valletta, a majestic panoramic point with a splendid view over the valley.
To face a mountain hike we suggest you:
Once you have parked the car in Val Valorz, after the bridge over the Rabbies stream, take the SAT 121 trail which first leads to the Valorz Waterfalls and shortly after to a sparse larch wood, to the Soprasasso Lake. Following the lake northwest, you then reach Lago Rotondo. Passing this one, you climb on the right, reaching near Lago Quarto and after a grassy stretch, to Lago Alto. A few minutes later it is possible to reach Passo Valletta with a wonderful panorama over the valley. The return is planned along the same route.
It is also possible to climb to Lago Alto and Lago Rotondo starting from Malga Stabli, easily reachable by car on a dirt road from Ortisé, and proceed along the road crossing green and wide pastures until you reach Malga Bronzolo at an altitude of 2,083 meters. Leaving the malga behind, continue along the SAT 121A trail towards Passo Valletta, from which you can already glimpse the two lakes embedded among the rocks. Then descend to reach Lago Alto and then Lago Rotondo at 2424 meters altitude. The return is also planned along the same route.
You can reach San Bernardo with the Trentino Trasporti line bus MALÈ - RABBI BAGNI - SOMRABBI (download the departure and return schedules).
Follow the SS42 to the village of Terzolas and at the roundabout take the second exit for Val di Rabbi, and follow the SP86 to the village of San Bernardo. After the village, take the road from the Pralongo locality leading to the Valorz waterfalls and after the small bridge over the Rabbies stream, leave the car at the parking lot at 1245 m altitude.
