The trail runs along the Noce River in the lower part of Val di Sole, characterized by green forests and apple crops. Starting in Croviana, where for lovers of the world of bees and insects it will be pure fun to visit the MMape - Mill Bee Museum, we move to the center of town for a visit to La Bottega del Pinelo to continue to Malè, the most populous center in the area and cradle of the ancient Solandra civilization. After a stop at the Cercen Dairy in Terzolas, it is on to Samoclevo. In San Giacomo it is possible to participate in an excursion "at the donkey's pace" and then refresh and stay overnight at the Agritur Solasna. On the second day, those who wish can reach the village of Tozzaga, for a visit to the Pedergnana Ettore Farm, where they can taste fragrant farm-produced salumi. Continue along the ancient irrigation canal, "la Lec" to Bozzana, a place of trenches. Crossing the Noce, you take the famous Val di Sole bicycle and pedestrian path until you reach Contre, a green oasis overlooking the Noce River. Those who wish can climb up to the historic center of Caldes to visit the ancient castle. Returning to the river, continue along the bike/pedestrian path to Località Regazzini, where you can enjoy a great lunch at the Osteria del Bosco and have fun with the little ones in the nearby Flying Park. From here you can reach the industrial area of Malè for a visit to the Fattore Legno Museum and some juice and jam shopping at Gustonatura. You then return to the starting point.
Products not to be missed along the way:
The fragrant cured meats, local cheeses and the famous Casolét della Val di Sole, a raw milk cheese that has been a Slow Food Presidium for years; apples and its processed products, such as juices and jams.
After a hearty breakfast, on the second day we climb the Val di Sole Trail that passes just above the village of San Giacomo. Through woods and pine forests, flat, shady and comfortable, it follows the ancient rural irrigation canal, "la Lec," which started in Val di Rabbi and passed through Arnago, Terzolas, Samoclevo and San Giacomo. The Roman road, with its two thousand years of history, represents a corridor traveled by men, soldiers, ranchers, traders and pilgrims.
Those who wish can make a small detour and reach the village of Tozzaga, for a visit to the Pedergnana Ettore Farm, where they can taste fragrant farm-produced salami.
Once you reach the pine forest, take the road that rises to the mouth of the Salin Valley where there is an illustrative panel of the Bordiana-Bozzana Trenches. From this point, a serpentine path rises among the rocky outcroppings along the ridge until it reaches the first three sites with the ruins of emplacements dating from the time of the Great War. Observation slits and a walkway carved into the ground are clearly visible. As one ascends, the strategic and dominant position over the valley becomes more evident.
From here you reach the Ponte Stori locality, cross the Noce River and take the Val di Sole bicycle and pedestrian path up the Noce River. Admiring orchards, forests and meadows, continue along this path until you reach the locality Contre di Caldes, an area equipped with benches, playground and bar, a green oasis overlooking the rushing Noce River, where a break in the shade of the trees is a must. From here you can admire the ancient Caldes Castle, whose current appearance is the result of the meeting of different cultures, Venetian, German and Lombard. The ancient manner can be visited, and is often the site of important art-historical exhibitions and displays. For those interested, it will suffice to make a detour, reaching the town of Caldes with a short walk.
Starting again from Contre, continue along the bike/pedestrian path to the locality of Regazzini di Malè, where at the Osteria del Bosco you will be welcomed by the cheerfulness of Graziella and her tasty menus. A must stop for lunch! Here you will also find the Flying Park, the adventure park where everyone can test themselves between climbing and scrambling in complete safety.
If you feel like doing some shopping and visiting a particular museum all dedicated to wood, you can reach the industrial area of Malè, where you will find the Gustonatura store, a small farm that transforms fruit to make tasty juices syrups and jams, and Fattore Legno, an interactive and multimedia educational path, where wood is the protagonist.
We then return to the bike path, and continue in the direction of Croviana to return to the starting point.
