With eyes turned toward the Ortles-Cevedale peaks and feet planted on the millennial stones of Alpine history, Castle San Michele is not just the symbol of Ossana and Val di Sole, but a panoramic balcony suspended in time. Beneath its imposing 25-meter keep wind the alleys of an authentic village, renowned for its unique atmosphere and beautifully preserved traditions.
Starting from summer 2026, visits to Castle San Michele will include an audio guide available in 3 languages (ITA, EN, DE). The audio guide can be accessed for free directly from your own device, or you can rent an MP3 player at the ticket office for €2.00.

From TRENTO: Take the SS42 highway to the village of Ossana, then follow the signs to the castle.
From PASSO DEL TONALE: Take the SS42 toward Trento. Just before entering the village of Ossana, at the Fucine junction, turn right and follow the signs to the castle.
You can also easily reach the village of Ossana by public transport. Get off at the Ossana Municipio (Town Hall) bus stop. From there, you can reach the castle on foot by following the pedestrian path that climbs up to the castle right next to the Il Maniero restaurant.
Former Elementary School Parking Lot (Ex scuola elementare): Paid parking during the months of December and January.
Town Hall Parking Lot (Municipio): Paid parking during the months of July, August, December, and January.
School Parking Lot in Fucine (Parcheggio delle scuole): Free of charge. The castle can be reached from here in about a ten-minute walk.
Due to the steep path and the rocky nature of the terrain, the castle is not fully accessible to people with mobility disabilities.
Dogs are welcome on the castle grounds as long as they are kept on a leash. Please watch your step and pay extra attention to the metal floor grates along the route to protect your four-legged friend's paws.
