WHAT TO EXPECT/ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

Immerse yourself in the notes of the wood and its several functions and discover its supply chain, from the origins to the construction of a beehive. During the laboratory you will get to know the world of bees, how to build a beehive and how it is managed. Together with us you will create a handmade souvenir to take home with you. And finally, you will taste our honey and jams.

An educational beehive to admire the complex social life of bees and the roles of each one of them. You can discover all the secrets of the queen bee and learn about the role that each bee plays within the hive. The wood used comes from Val di Sole; you can touch it and understand how it was used in the past and how it has evolved over time.

WHO ARE WE

The Casa dell'Ape, or ‘Bee House’ farm, in Ortisè was set up for the love of bees and nature! It has been specialised in building beehives, beekeeping and locally grown vegetables for over 20 years.

WHAT WE SUPPLY

We will provide you with a "carpenter's" apron with which you can create your wooden craft. At the end of the experience, we will let you taste the honey and a warm drink by the fire.

Hiking boots or shoes suitable for snow, warm and comfortable winter clothing.

You can reach Ortisé with your car by following the SS42. Follow the directions and take the road that goes up to Ortisé at the crossroads between Mezzana and Pellizzano.
