Have you ever heard the buzzing sound around a beehive? Or smelled the fragrant scent of bee wax or propolis or the odour that bees emit when they’re at work? With the help of a beekeeper, you can experience all this for yourself as you get a close up look of a beehive to discover all the secrets of this fascinating world.

WHAT WE SUPPLY

We will supply professional protective gloves and a mask just like those that a beekeeper uses and you’ll also get to sample locally produced honey that has been made with love by Val di Sole’s bees and beekeepers

All equipment and protective gear has been previously sanitized and disinfected according to Covid-19 regulations.

A dispenser and biodegradable single use products will be used to sample honey.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

This activity is suitable for families and all those who are interested in learning more about this special world.

All minors must be accompanied by a parent or a guardian and they must be 6 years or older.  

EQUIPMENT/CLOTHING

You must wear full length pants or closed toe shoes. To enjoy a safe experience, avoid using perfume, aftershave products or any products with a strong scent before the activity (bees communicate through odours and some of ours may send the wrong message).   

Always bring your face mask with you that you will have to wear under your beekeeper protective gear that we will supply.

IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER

If it rains or if there is strong wind, bees can not be disturbed. The activity will therefore be rescheduled. Museum staff will notify participants.
