Starting point

Rabbi Fonti

Directions

The route starts at the parking lot in loc. Fonti di Rabbi from where you begin cycling on a comfortable forest track with compact dirt surface. The slope is initially significant (for the first 2 kilometers), then becomes gentler once you enter Val Cercen, in an environment dominated by the peaks of the Tremenesca Group. If you haven't already, along the climb you will find a detour to the scenic suspended bridge over the Ragaiolo Waterfall. Here you can observe the lively waters of the Rio from a uniquely spectacular viewpoint, atop a Tibetan bridge suspended 100 meters above the ground.

Returning to the dirt road, once you reach loc. Fontanon, where there is also a picnic area equipped with tables and barbecues, you cross the Ragaiolo stream and begin to climb the opposite side of the valley. During the climb, always immersed in a wonderful conifer forest (red firs and larches) that will allow you to pedal in the cool, some steeper sections begin after Malga Monte Sole Bassa. After a few kilometers, the forest thins and gradually gives way to pastures, while the climbs soften as you approach the highest point of the route, reaching Malga Monte Sole Alta, located at an altitude of 2,049 meters. Here a breathtaking view opens up over the peaks of the Tremenesca Group and the head of Val Cercen. The effort made during the climb will be rewarded by tasty dishes prepared with high-quality local products that you can enjoy at the Malga.

The return trip is along the same route back. It is recommended to keep your speed under control – the route is shared with pedestrians and other bikers. In the section between loc. Fontanon and Rabbi Fonti, cars may pass, so utmost caution is advised.
