Safety information

Rules for hiking in the mountains:
  • The accessibility of trails in mountain environments is closely linked to current conditions and can be affected by natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather. For this reason, make sure to check the route and its conditions before setting off. You can do this by contacting the nearest Information Office.
  • If you plan to reach an alpine hut or refuge, make sure it is open, and if you plan to stop there for a meal or overnight stay, call in advance to make a reservation.
  • Always let someone know your route and carry your phone with you.
  • In case of emergency, call 112.
  • Never leave trash in the mountains and, if possible, avoid leaving it at huts or alpine pastures.
  • If you spot wildlife along the way, stay on the trail, don’t get too close, don’t shout, and keep your dog on a leash to prevent it from instinctively chasing and scaring the animals.

Starting point

Malè

Directions

From the center of Malé, passing through the pine forest “il Funghetto” and crossing the footbridge over the Noce River, you reach the locality Regazzini. From here, you ascend to join Valley Trail no. 9, which alternates stretches of dirt road and path, leading to the equipped area called Plazze di Croviana. Descending on an asphalt road, you enter a very special natural environment worthy of a short stop: the protected area called “Ontaneta di Croviana.” It is a small natural oasis where you can stop to admire various animal and plant species, many of which are protected at the European level. Continuing along the route, you encounter an old mill now used as the Museo Mulino dell’Ape (MMape), where you can discover all the secrets of the world of bees. Near the museum, there is also a picnic area with a lovely small lake. Then continue along the dirt road after loc. Plazze, passing through the pine forest with picnic area in Plaucesa, until you reach the Gnoca park, near the characteristic village of Carciato. The route concludes by returning to Malé along the Val di Sole cycle-pedestrian path.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE:

From loc. Regazzini, it is also possible to continue the itinerary to the left along Valley Trail no. 10 towards loc. Toare, making a loop that passes by the Molini di Terzolas.
