Safety information

Rules for mountain walks:

  • The passability of routes in a mountain environment is closely linked to current conditions and therefore depends on natural phenomena, environmental changes, and weather conditions. For this reason, get good information about the route and its conditions before setting out. You can do this by contacting the nearest Information Office.
  • If you plan to reach a malga or a refuge, make sure they are open and if you intend to stop to eat or sleep, call them in advance to book.
  • Leave information about your itinerary and always carry a phone.
  • In case of accident call 112.
  • Never leave waste on the mountain and, if possible, avoid leaving it at the refuges or malgas you visit.
  • If you spot wild animals along the way, we invite you to stay on the path, not to approach too closely, not to shout, and keep your dog on a leash to prevent it from instinctively chasing and frightening them.

Directions

Once you have left the car at Coler parking lot, the easy route begins. From the parking lot, take the staircase that leads to the dirt road and turn right onto the path that leads to the banks of a small stream. After crossing a wooden bridge, continue right on the path that goes into the dense conifer forest and follow the clear signs to Malga Fratte Bassa, which you will reach with a comfortable walk in about 40 minutes. Here you can enjoy a relaxing break at Malga Fratte Bassa tasting local dishes made with local and zero-kilometer products. If the cheeses you try make you fall in love, you can buy the dairy products directly at the malga.

The malga is also reachable from the Plan parking lot, from which, continuing on foot towards the "Segheria Veneziana," the path starts on the left. After crossing a bridge, continue on the path that leads to the road that leads to the Ragaiolo Waterfalls. Continuing left you reach the waterfalls and the fascinating suspended bridge 100 meters from the ground from which you can observe the roaring waterfalls from a different viewpoint. After crossing the bridge, take the uphill road on the right and reach the malga in about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
