THE HIGHEST ALPINE REFUGES IN ORIENTAL ALPS

Rifugio Vioz and Linke peak

One of the great classic treks of Val di Sole: Rifugio Vioz.
Located in the heart of Stelvio National Park, this trek will truly leave you speechless due to its incredible variety of landscapes and, above all, because you'll reach an altitude of 3,535 meters. By continuing along the ridge beyond the refuge and crossing a short glacier section, you’ll reach Punta Linke - one of the highest and most important strategic points of the Western Front during World War I. Today, it has been transformed into a museum site that tells the story of life at high altitudes during the war.

At the foot of the highest peak in TrentinO

Rifugio Denza and Prensanella peak

A historic itinerary that crosses locations and cultural sites where World War I was fought. The route stretches between Vermiglio and Passo del Tonale, borderlands during the war. The hike is certainly not easy, but it will take you to the foothills of the morainic slopes of Cima Presanella, the highest peak in Trentino, where the refuge is located. The surprises don’t end there: near the refuge, you’ll be captivated by Lake Denza, a small alpine glacial lake in which, on clearer and sunnier days, the summit of Presanella is reflected.
