This exhibition, located at the Polo Culturale (Cultural Centre) in Vermiglio since 2006, includes a collection of war relics and remains that were found by Emilio Serra on the mountains in Val di Sole, specifically in the Passo Tonale area on the Adamello and Presanella mountain group.
A big hall hosts a collection including numerous war remains, weapons, various objects and equipment that soldiers carried along during the war. Original WWI documents and photos with a particular focus on the events that took place in the Vermiglio area can also be seen. The museum has also a room that is used for educational activities and for showing films and slideshows. There is also a conference room that can host up to 180 people that is equipped with audio visual equipment and a wide selection of books on the war.
Upon request, the Museum organizes guided tours of Fort Strino and other forts in the area (Fort Zaccarana, Fort Mero, Fort Pozzi Alti or Presanella).
At the White War Museum in Vermiglio, you can experience what it was like to be a soldier on the front lines. Through words, sounds, and lights using surround techniques—with sounds coming from different directions and points in the room—you will be completely immersed in the story of a soldier writing a letter to his mother during World War I.
The museum is fully wheelchair accessible, as there are no internal obstacles. Nearby, there is a parking lot with a reserved space for people with disabilities. Additionally, the museum room where the audio system is installed is accessible for visually impaired visitors.
