WHAT TO EXPECT/ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
Did you know that donkeys are very affectionate? If you treat them gently they become faithful companions. They’re sweet and intelligent animals. Come and meet Ernestina and Joaquin, two friendly little donkeys, and learn to cuddle and groom them. The donkeys and the guide, Cheyenne, will take you for an easy stroll to the Valorz Waterfalls, where a tasty snack with local produce will be waiting for you in the picnic area.
INTERESTING FACTS/INFO
The Valorz trail boasts a number of scenic viewpoints over the Val di Rabbi. You’ll get an up-close look at the ‘masi’, traditional mountain farmhouses built entirely in wood and stone. The snack will be served in the picnic area at the foot of the Valorz Waterfalls, where the silence is broken only by the sounds of nature.
WHO ARE WE
For the walk with donkeys you’ll be in the safe hands of Cheyenne, a shepherdess born in Bavaria. She has been living in Val di Rabbi since 2001, where she puts her flock to pasture to nurture and preserve the landscape, thus reducing afforestation. The traditional sweet and savoury snack is provided by Pasticceria Silvia and will be washed down with a delicious fruit juice made nearby using local fruit by Rabbi Coltura.
